How long has Harper Arrington and Digital Fashion Pro been around?

Harper Arrington / Startingaclothingline.com were found in 2004. The first version of Digital Fashion Pro was released in early 2005. The parent web site of Harper Arrington is Hapub.com. Go there to see other Harper Arrington projects.

Can I manipulate, alter, change sleeves, collars, cuts etc. to the templates - and make them my own design or am I stuck with how the template is?

All the templates can be manipulated, changed and so on. We actually teach you how in the tutorials. You are never stuck with a template. Manipulating templates in essence is what makes you feel good about your designs so we encourage it. Being creative and altering things and so on is what fashion design is really all about. Digital Fashion Pro embraces that theory to the fullest!

How effective are the tutorials, will I be able to learn how to work the program fast?

The video tutorials are very effective. They will help you get going quickly. The instructor teaching on the tutorials takes you step by step through creating your first garment and more. We get wonderful feedback from customers and clients on the tutorials all the time.

I’ve never designed before and I’m not really good at sketching, can this program still help me?

Digital Fashion Pro is for first time designers all the way to professional designers. The reason being is the program is all about results. When you finish your designs they will look like the sketches you’ve seen on this site and even better in some cases once you get really good at using the program. The Basic Course that comes free with the program will help teach you the basics to get you going quickly. The program doesn’t rely on traditional sketching so therefore your sketching ability isn’t a factor. Just a word of advice. Never let your current skill set stop you from going after your dream. You can do anything you set your mind to.

Can I add my own fabric or sketches that I did by hand to the system?

Absolutely! You can add your own fabrics with ease. You can also add your hand sketches so that you can modify them inside the system.

What is the difference between the Basic version and the Elite version?

The basic version comes with the standard garments templates and standard fabrics whereas the Elite version comes with 3 upgrades which include 1,000 more fabrics, baby and kid templates, tutorial on using Digital Fashion Pro for technical sketches, the denim wash factory that teaches you how to do special techniques on your denim designs to reflect what’s going on in the real world and more! It is the best value outside of the Ultimate Fashion Package that we offer.

How widely used is Digital Fashion Pro because I want to know will I still be able to send my sketches to my manufacturer if they don’t have the program?
